stamp carving materials-question

Can one buy JUST the carving tools without the 'rubber' material? I've looked
and looked everywhere and can only find the Speedball brand #2 and #3 carving
tools that come in the "Speedy Stamp" package. I'm looking for something with
a thinner channel (is there a #1 tool?) besides a plain exacto knife.
Thanks!

Try linoleum block carving tools. Those are the same as the ones in the
speedball kit but you should be able to get them alone. If you have a
Michael's nearby try them. i got mine from there and there are thin channel
tools.

I've been to at least 7 Michael's all over northern Calif. and can find
nothing but the Speedball kit I mentioned earlier. I've also tried art supply
shops everywhere I go. Frustrating!
What state are you in?

Some art stores carry the blades separately. I know that Dick Blick sells
them individually on their website. Also Jerry's Artarama in West Hartford,
CT sells them individually. If you want a small channel, get the #1.

Thanks for the offer. I just found the tools I'm looking for on the Dick
Blick site and ordered them. They had the #1 V-cutting tool and packages of
them for $1.68 for 2 which I fell is VERY reasonable! You had to know to look
for linoleum cutting tools!
Yeah!!
